Properties Editor

Reset - restores all the parameters to their original values.

Help - displays help for Properties Editor.

Color - selects the method to be used to specify the color of the currently selected object.

Slider - The red, green and blue components are specified using sliders respectively.

Palette - The color to be used can be specified by clicking the button corresponding to that color in a palette of 64 colors.

Inherit - all the attributes related to color and material are inherited from th e parent object.

Ambient - specifies the amount of ambient light reflected by the object. The larger this value, the greater is the amount of light reflected and the object also appears brighter.

Diffuse - denotes light other than ambient light and specifies the amount to be uniformly reflected in each direction. The larger the value, the brighter the appearance of the object.

Specular - this refers to light reflected by shining surfaces such as a mirror. Specifies the brightness of the highlight resulting from such reflection. The greater this value, the brighter the highlight.

Specular Gloss - specifies the size of the highlight due to specular reflection. The greater this value, the smaller and sharper the highlight.

Transparency - Specifies the transparency of the light. The smaller this value, the greater is the transparency.

Specular Color Editor - If this is turned on, a menu appears for defining the color of specular light. There are two ways to define color: one, by using sliders to specify the red, green and blue color components and the other, by using a 64-color palette. However, this button is inactive if the value of [Specular] is less than 0.

Close - closes the menu panel.
